Thank you for checking out Silver Birch Bakery! Sophie's the name, baking's the game! Ever since I was a kid, I've loved designing, baking and eating cakes. After many requests, in 2021 I set up shop, or kitchen, then names Sophie's Cakes. In 2025 I decided to rebrand as Silver Birch Bakery because I offer more than just cake.

It's given me the opportunity to make things that are completely different to birthday cakes, and carry on experimenting and refining my skills! Who knew that it's so much fun to put cheesecake in an Easter egg?!

About Me: About Us
The first real cake I ever made was for my 18th birthday, with the help from my Nana who was the catalyst for all of this. I used to spend hours in her kitchen making a mess, which has never really changed. I had no idea what I was really doing, but knew how to make a good sponge, so how hard could it be to throw some icing on it? It turns out, very.

Over the years I've learned a lot, but one thing I know is that I get such joy from people enjoying the treats I make. There's nothing better than when someone asks for another slice of my cake. Plus it's no good eating a whole cake to yourself just because you want to try a new recipe.
